Safari in some of the most interesting parks of Uganda

This safari takes you for a rafting experience on the Nile (the longest river in the world), Mabamba wetland, beautiful Sipi falls, tangled Kidepo jungles with arid savannahs, roaring rapids of Murchison falls, Ziwa rhinos, Kibale forest chimpanzees, the rare tree climbing lions of Ishasha, the Gorillas and the golden monkeys. In just a few days you can see some of the world’s rarest creatures. A pure African safari in Uganda the land of the half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, we will meet and then transfer to 2 friends’ beach hotel for overnight. Today you won’t do much apart from relaxing at your hotel, dinner and overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will be driven to the boat at Lake Victoria where you will transfer by the speed boat to Mabamba swamp. Lunch at Nkima lodge; relax and enjoy the forest at the lodge as you watch the resident monkey species around the lodge. An evening guided nature walk will be enjoyed to watch some bird species of this area.

Enjoy an early breakfast, and then transfer to Mabamba swamp for a half day shoe bill excursion, Mabamba wet land is one of the best places to see the elusive shoebill stork. A lot more birds will be spotted on today’s excursion. You will return at Nkima lodge for lunch and some refreshments.

Evening transfer by a speed boat back to Entebbe, check in at 2 friends’ hotel for dinner and overnight.

Have your morning breakfast and then transfer to Jinja east of Uganda, todays first stop will be at sezibwa falls for a guided cultural nature walk and sightseeing, you will then transfer to Mabira forest for another spectacular forest walk to view some monkey species, birds, butterflies, snakes and different tree species. Have lunch at the javas house in Jinja and after lunch undertake a boat trip to the source of the river Nile enjoy a great opportunity to view different bird species.

Dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort

After having your morning breakfast, you will hit the road to where your rafting begins on the Nile. Enjoy a half day rafting; this will be the beginning of your African adventure. This is an amazing and adventurous activity which is a life time experience.

Enjoy your lunch at the rafting camp and then proceed to Mbale (2hrs drive) for an overnight stay at Mbale resort Hotel. Dinner and overnight

After your breakfast, continue to Sipi falls (1hr drive), you will explore the 3 beautiful Sipi falls. Sipi falls is found on the foothill of mountain Elgon and at the edge of this special volcano. It has a series of three tall waterfalls all plunging along the lower slopes of Mt Elgon in Eastern Uganda. You will be walked by our knowledgeable site guide. After your lunch, embark on a coffee tour (optional). Sipi area also offers the best scenery for the lower karamojong plains plus a magnificent view of the sun set. Check in at Sipi river lodge or Lacam lodge. Dinner and overnight at your lodge

Today you will undertake an adventurous drive through the karamojong region as you head to Kidepo National Park. If you ever thought of being on a real African safari, then Kidepo is the perfect place to be. This national park is Uganda’s most unexplored reserve teeming with abundance of wildlife. You will enjoy the true moments of an African safari. On this drive, you will have an opportunity to see the true karamojong nomadic pastoralists as they look after their cattle and how they live in their manyatas.

Arrive in the evening to check in and relax at Adera lodge or savannah lodge. Dinner and overnight

Morning game drive in Kidepo valley National Park, lunch at your lodge and an evening game drive in the Narus Valley.

After your morning breakfast you will embark on a morning game drive in the Narus valley, look out for the big four which are present and they include the lions, leopards, elephants and the buffalos. The grassy Narus valley is most reliable for the lions and the leopards, huge herds of buffalos and elephants. River Narus and River Kidepo are paramount in nourishing the wildlife and the natural habitat of this park. The Park is set against a backdrop of beautiful Mountain Morungule offering the best scenery of a true African gem. Zebras, giraffes, different antelope species and the cheetahs might be spotted on today’s morning game drive. You will head back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, proceed to experience a magical touch of the karamojong community, they will perform for you their cultural dance plus entertaining you and this will get you close to their ways of living.

At the end of the day you will return to your lodge to relax and enjoy your dinner and overnight

After your morning breakfast, enjoy an early morning game drive in the Narus valley before transferring to Murchison Falls National Park through Gulu, hit the road and access the park through Porong gate (apprx 6hrs driving). You will view great sceneries of this conserved area plus a remarkable number of different animal species as you drive towards the overnight stay lodge.

Check in at Pakuba safari lodge, or Para lodge. Dinner and overnight

After your morning breakfast, you will hit the Savannah in search for more adventure. This park offers the best scenery for landscape and also the big 4. Today you will embark on a 3 hours game drive in to search for the big 4 which include the lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant. Other animals may include giraffes, hippos, kobs, heart beasts, warthogs, hyenas, jackals among others. After this amazing game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise to the summit of the Murchison falls. The cruise on the river is indeed relaxing with a lot of animals sightings like the crocodiles, Hippos, elephants, the fish eagles, the king fishers, and lots of birds. A hike to the top of the falls is a must activity one shouldn't miss.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge

Morning game drive and evening game drive in Murchison falls national park.

After your morning breakfast, you embark on your last game drive in Murchison N.P and after, head for Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This sanctuary is known for spotting white rhinos at a close range in the wild. You will enjoy a break at Kabalega resort for lunch and some refreshment. Continue to the Rhino Sanctuary to check in at Amuka safari lodge, relax and later in the evening go for your Rhino trekking experience, the rhino is one of the big 5 animals and after your rhino tracking you will have completed the big 5 experience in Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Amuka safari lodge. A guided night nature walk can be undertaken from Amuka (optional). This will open up more chances of spotting some nocturnal species living with in the sanctuary.

Enjoy your morning breakfast and then drive to Kibale National Park, through Masindi, Hoima, Kyenjojo and Fort portal. You will have a stopover in Fort portal city to enjoy a hot lunch (6hrs driving). Today you won’t do much apart from checking in at Primate Lodge Kibale forest. Dinner and overnight

Have a morning breakfast, and then head out for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. The highlights of this day are the chimpanzees in the wild. Chimpanzees are very intriguing animals; they will indeed brighten your day with amazing gestures that are almost similar to humans. Other primates like the grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboons, L’Hoest monkey, red colobus alongside the black and white colobus can be spotted on today’s chimpanzee trek. After your trek, you will head back to your lodge for lunch. Relax at your lodge as you bond with the nature. Different monkey species will be spotted near your lodge. Spend the rest of your time at the lodge.

After a relaxed morning, transfer to the crater areas where you will have a guided crater walk to view the different craters of this area. This is one of the rewarding activities that you will enjoy as you hike to different elevations to view the beauty of this area. After this, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and some relax off time. Later undertake a nature walk in Bigodi swamp. This swamp is an eco-tourist site specifically for bird watching. Over 200 various bird species have been recorded in this area. You will also spot other various monkey species and mammals on this walk.

Relax at your lodge, dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After breakfast, hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through beautiful villages, with preferred stops to take photos in markets, villages and the land scape. The park lies at the foothills of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon.” Check in and have lunch at Buffalo Safari lodge, Park View safari lodge. Relax and later undertake an evening game drive. A short evening game drive will wind down the day with a chance to view some animal species in the open savannah of kasenyi and the sunset with the back drop of the Rwenzori Mountain.

Return to your lodge. Enjoy dinner and overnight.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and embark on a game drive to catch a glimpse at the morning predators and grazers in the kasenyi plain of Queen Elizabeth. This morning, we will visit the bunyampaka salt Crater Lake and view how salt is extracted there, also have a chance to spot the migratory lesser flamingoes on this lake. Have lunch and relax time at your lodge, then undertake an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that joins Lake George to Lake Edward. You will have a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, giant Forest hogs, among others. For the bird lovers, birds like, Papyrus Gonolek, malachite kingfishers, pelicans, sand pipers, African fish eagles, water thick-knee, and yellow-billed stork among others can be spotted. Don’t forget your camera

Have your morning breakfast, you will check out at your lodge and then continue with an adventurous drive to Ishasha (southern sector of Queen Elizabeth Park 2 hours driving) for the tree climbing lions. You will embark on an afternoon game drive through the ishasha plains to look out for the tree climbing lions; other animals like the topi, leopard, elephants, and buffaloes can be spotted on their trails as you drive. Have lunch and relax at your lodge, and then later undertake an evening game drive to spot more animals.

Dinner and overnight at Ishasha wilderness camp

Today you will enjoy a whole day wilderness in Ishasha area. You will also visit the Ishasha River which creates a boundary between Queen Elizabeth Park and Virunga National Park of Congo. Have a chance to view the hippos at a close range.

Lunch and dinner will be served at your lodge.

After breakfast you will enjoy another game drive before proceeding to Bwindi Gorilla Park, driving through Bwindi forest is breath taking ,expect to view varies tree species and some monkeys on this drive. Reach in the evening to check in at Mahogany Springs Lodge, Buhoma lodge, Buhoma Haven lodge, or Ichumbi gorilla lodge.

Dinner and overnight

Have breakfast and head to the briefing point where you will receive a briefing on the dos and don'ts for this gorilla trekking activity. Your ranger guide will lead and enter you in the Gorilla tracking zone for your adventure. Bwindi is a home of almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas and this offers 99% chances of sighting these great Apes in their natural habitat. A packed lunch box will be carried along since time taken to locate the gorillas is unpredictable. You will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour of photography and observation when you meet the gorillas. Meeting the mountain gorillas will be the climax of this African dream safari and it will be the most exhilarating experience on this safari. Head back to your lodge to relax, and then prepare to visit the Batwa community. The Batwa are believed to be one of the earliest tribe to live in Uganda, they are known for their short structure, they lived in the Bwindi forest before conservation of mountain gorillas took place.

They will exhibit their ancient ways of life and a cultural dance before you. After this cultural tour, head back to lodge for relax time. Dinner and overnight

After breakfast, you will head to kisoro district where Mgahinga National Park lies, continue to check in at Lake Mutanda lodge, or chameleon hill lodge spending the rest of the evening at leisure.

(4 hours) Dinner and overnight

After breakfast, transfer to the Mgahinga park headquarters to get ready for golden monkey trekking. You will be briefed on the dos and don’ts during the golden monkey adventure. This activity will involve walking in the park with the help of a ranger guide. The time taken to find these monkeys varies due to their movements. It can take 30 minutes to 3 hours before spotting them and once spotted, a maximum of one hour will be given to you for observation. (Don’t miss seeing monkeys which are only found in Uganda and Rwanda).

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to check in and relax at Bird Nest or Acadia cottages bunyonyi, dinner and overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy Bird watching and Lake Bunyonyi day tour. The boat cruise will take you to explore the different islands of Lake Bunyonyi as you spot some resident and migratory bird species. You will cruise to the different islands which include Punishment Island where Bakiga girls who became pregnant before marriage were taken and left to die. Other islands of Lake Bunyonyi include upside island, Akampene, Bushara, and Bucuraniko among others. Spend the afternoon with a zip lining activity across the lake at leisure.

Dinner at your lodge

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park after a relaxed breakfast. Check in, have lunch at your lodge and relax. An evening game drive will be undertaken with expectations of spotting impalas, the gigantic elands, zebras, topis, bushbucks, kobs, cape buffaloes, giraffes, leopards, hyenas, among others.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight. Lodges to stay are Mihingo lodge or kigambira safari lodge.

Rise early and take your breakfast before going out to search for some game this unique national park, Mburo also has great biodiversity and a beautiful landscape that is quite different from other national parks of Uganda. Head back to the lodge and enjoy your lunch, thereafter you will enjoy an afternoon boat cruise for close sighting of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbuck, among others, lots of bird species will be spotted along. Head back to the lodge for relax time off, enjoy dinner at your lodge.

You can opt to undertake a night game drive to search for some nocturnal game. (Optional)

After your breakfast, head out to the savannah with an armed ranger guide to enjoy a guided nature walk. This activity offers you a chance to get close to the nature. Check out at your lodge and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe airport so that you catch up with your late evening flight. A stopover will be made at kayabwe equator line for lunch and photography.

Arrive in Kampala late in the evening or get dropped at a pre booked lodge in Entebbe.

We keep our group sizes low so that you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our local guides. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect up to 15 travelers on a trip but the average is 10.

Travelers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices. We would be happy to help you arrange flights. Just ask for an air quote when making your booking.

To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits for most of our tours. Also, travellers with pre-existing medical conditions are required to complete a medical questionnaire. Our Family Adventures are open to families with children aged between 5 and 17 years of age. Our standard (non-family) adventures are open to children aged 12 years or older when accompanied by a parent (max. two children per adult). The two-children-per-adult restriction does not apply to our Family adventures.
