Detailed Itinerary

01Day 1: Program

You will meet with our guide from Big lion Safaris and head for Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This sanctuary is known for spotting white rhinos at a clsoe range in the wild. After your rhino tracking, relax at your lodge. Dine and immediately after, you will undertake a guided Night nature walk. This walk gives you the best opportunity to spot some nocturnal animals and birds. If you are lucky enough you might spot the leopard trying to put down it's prey. Over night at Amuka Safari lodge.

02Day 2: Program

After your breakfast, you will transfer to Murchison falls National Park with an early lunch in masindi town. This park has alot of exiting attractions, today we shall go for an afternoon chimpanzees tracking in Murchison falls N.P at budongo forest. The forest has an estimate of 600-700 chimpazees, which comprises of both habituated and non habituated chimps. It is a rain forest with a very rich biodiversity for both plants and birds. The forest also boasts of the oldest mahogany tree in the world, which roughly dates back to 400 years. Don't forget to hug the largest mahogany tree. After your tracking, relax at budongo eco lodge.Dinner and over night.

03Day 3: Program

You will wake up with the beautiful melodies of different bird species in budongo forest. For the bird lovers, this area has two special birds which are not found else where in East Africa. These are, yellow footed flycatcher and the puvel's illadopsis. Other common birds include the pied wage tail, olive breasted greenbul, the crested guinefowls. An enroute stop at the top of the falls to view the falls, as you head to check in at your next lodge. Have lunch and after lunch you will undertake an evening game drive towards the delta circuit. Expect to see lots of aminals as they return from the river after quenching off their Long Day's thirst. This park offers the best scenery for landscape and also the big 4 which includes the Lions, leopards, buffaloes and the elephants. Other big game like the girrafes, Hippos, kobs,hartbeaets, warthogs will also be spotted. You will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

04Day 4: Program

After your morning breakfast, you will hit the Savannah in search for more adventure. Today you will embark on a 3 hours game drive and then break off at the hippo pool to see the Hippos at a closer range. Head back to the lodge for lunch and afternoon boat cruise to the summit of the Murchison falls. The cruise on the river is so relaxing, it offers you alot of scenery plus animals like the crocdiles, Hippos, elephants, the fish eagles,the king fishers, and lots of birds. After the cruise you will head back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

05Day 5: Program

Today you will exit Murchison falls National Park and head to Semuliki national park.You will pass through the East African rift valley. The western arm of the rift valley extends through Hoima and the Lake Albert. Reach and check-in at Semuliki Safari Lodge/ Rwenzori Guest view house. You will undertake a Night game drive. It is full of surprises. Often the giant cats are spotted as well as tiny jenet and serval cats. Bizarre night dwellers also show up, such as white-tailed mongoose and slender mongoose depending on the time of year. Return to the lodge for rest.

06Day 6: Program

Sempaya hot springs.
After taking breakfast, head for a short guided trail near Ntandi, Sempaya hot springs, and the most exciting activity in Semuliki national park. These have an evocative sight featuring hot water oozing out from a wide opening in the ground while shooting up at 100 (Celsius degree). After our nature walk we shall transfer to the caves( amabere ga nyina mwiru) for another interesting cultural trial tour. There is a very beautiful fall which is believed to have happened after a princess breast was cut off by her father. You will enjoy all these stories there. Dinner and over night at Fort motel/ Ducthess in Fortpotal.

07Day 7: Program

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. After breakfast, you will hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through beautiful villages, with prefered stops to take photos in markets, plantations and the community. This will be a short drive (2-3hrs), seeing the views of Lake George and Lake Edward. The park lies at the foothills of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon.” Check in at Buffalo Safari lodge, Park veiw or pumba cottages, and lunch. After relaxing, head for the evening game drive where you will see buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and elephants along the way as you drive slowly to visit the Lake Katwe town with its gorgeous exhibit of crater lakes. Check out salt mining at lake katwe crater. You will have a chance to see the flamingos at this lake depending on the time of year. Return back to the lodge and rest.

08Day 8: Program

Rise up early, take breakfast and then head for a game drive at the Kasenyi plains, your Safari guide will help out to look for Lions, leopards, bushbuck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes elephants, snakes to mention but a few. A collection of birds like Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. This can take you 3-4 hrs. Head back to the lodge for lunch then in the evening go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel (2hrs) along lake George-lake Edward. The kazinga channel joins lake Gorge with Edward. You will have a chance to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes gaint Forrest hogs, leopards though rarely spotted. Watch birds for birders with over 550 resident species like flamingos, red chest, Papyrus Gonolek, pink-backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, pink-backed pelicans, water thick-knee, yellow-billed stork. Don’t forget your camera. Return to your lodge.

09Day 9: Program

Transfer to Bwindi through Ishasha Enjoy the sweet morning melodies of birds up in the trees as you wake up for breakfast. After breakfast drive through Ishasha to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. If chance allows we shall spot the tree climbing lions sleeping in the huge fig trees of Ishasha area. Ishasha section is famous for it's tree climbing lions.(you can opt for an additional night in this area). Proceed to Bwindi national park a worldwide recognized habitat for the mountain gorillas. Sleep at enganzi, bakiga lodge,ichumbi lodge or broadbill lodge.

10Day 10: Program

Take your morning breakfast so that you energise before you head out to the jungle for gorilla trekking by 0800hrs. You will trek through the huge Bwindi forest as you search for the mountain gorillas to observe their behavior, this can be half-day or longer. A packed lunch is recommended to be carried and this will be eaten in the jungle. After tracking, go for briefs visits to batwa(pygmies who lived in the forest before it was gazzeted as a national Park) local community. Then drive down to lake bunyonyi for relaxation on the lake. If time allows you will undertake an evening canoe to visit the punishment island where Bakiga girls who became pregnant before marriage were taken and left to die in isolation. Other islands of lake Bunyonyi include Akampene, Bushara, and Bucuraniko among others.

11Day 11: Program

After your morning breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kampala or to entebbe airport for your flight.
